On the final night of the competition, the USA dominated the women’s 4x100m and 4x400m relays, the latter of which was anchored by Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone. However, it was Botswana who came out on top in the men’s 4x400m, with Collen Kebinatshipi securing victory with a final dash to the finish line.
Daniel Stahl successfully defended his discus throw title with a final throw of 70.47 metres, while Nicola Olyslagers claimed her first outdoor title by clearing 2 metres. Lilian Odira stunned in the 800 metres, beating favourites and breaking a 42-year-old championship record. Cole Hocker also surged to victory in the 5000m, while Leo Neugebauer secured 8804 points to win his first decathlon gold
