Imran Khan: Pakistan ex-PM charged under terrorism act

Police in Pakistan have filed terrorism charges against the former Prime Minister Imran Khan – after he gave a speech at the weekend vowing to sue police officers and a female judge, and claiming that a close aide had been tortured after his arrest.

Mr Khan could face several years in prison under the charges, and is likely to appear in front of an anti terrorism court later this week.

Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan has warned Pakistan army of consequences as he blamed the military for crackdown on his party after he was booked under terrorism charges. Islamabad witnessed overnight drama as hundreds of PTI workers assembled at Imran Khan’s house after they anticipated that he would be arrested by police.
